Enthusiastic Garden

Just pictures and comments again. 🙂 Enjoy!

These pictures show us putting things into the ground. Finally! I was getting over-grown in my house and was very happy when I could move the plants from the house into the garden. We had to cover many of the plants up with miniature green houses for a while, until the weather stayed warmer through the night. But, we had most of our garden planted by the end of May and doing quite well. Below you will find small pictures of the planting process and the plants in their first few weeks of growth in the garden soil. If you click on the picture it will get slightly larger, if you click on the larger picture it will show you a full screen shot if you want to see close up pictures.

Those pictures were taken about a month ago. Everything seems like it has doubled in size since then and we have lots of fresh produce at our fingertips now! It’s lots of fun but sure keeps me busy! Pickles, relish, green beans, peppers, tomatoes, parsley, fresh herbs….it’s great!

Sage, Oregano, Thyme, Basil

Sweet peppers and two bell

Nice big bell pepper! Exciting!

Lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, carrots

That’s all the pictures I’ve got right now! I need to get over to the garden and get some current pictures. The corn is at least 12 feet tall now with ears all over it. We are having lots of trouble keeping it upright though. 🙁 I think we must have planted the seeds too close together and now the arms are pushing each other over. Very sad. Hopefully God will keep it strong for us.

The Tomatoes are massive! I’ve never seen them get so big! The plants, that is. The fruit is a little on the small side but there is plenty of it! We can’t keep the tomatoes tied up for anything though. We tried and tried and had to resort to leaving them be, half of them have folded in half or are leaning out in the walk paths. 🙁 They are still doing very well though, it just looks a bit messy.

The watermelon LOVED the hot weather we have gotten this summer and are just growing like crazy now! We have at least 10 very good sized melons growing inches every day. They’re very fun to watch.

I’ll try to get some current pictures up soon. Hopefully it won’t take me quite so long to update again!
