Cherry Picking

Sunday, June 22nd, 2014

I joined a volunteer group here in Salem called Salem Harvest. It’s pretty cool! The first half of the produce that you pick is donated to the food bank, the second half is yours to take home! Farmers donate the leftovers of their crops after they have harvested what they will use and they get a tax write off for doing so.

I picked about 30lbs of cherries.

Bathroom Makeover

Thursday, June 12th, 2014

It turned out to be a rainy day today so I decided to work on my “homemaking” instead of my “gardening”.

We have such a small little bathroom, I thought adding the looks of a window to the wall might help it feel a little bigger. I was thinking I would actually hang a small window up with a painting/picture behind it and then hang an actual curtain over it. Well, then I went to a yard sale and found one of Wallies Murals! Pretty cool stuff! My whole idea, already laid out on one easy wall mural! How easy does it get! And best of all, I picked it up for just $1.00!!!

And now for the before and after shots…

Aww, so much better now! But now I need to buy a new shower curtain to match! Eventually. 😉

Whoa…just noticed I almost went an entire year without posting anything….
