Wow–everything is growing so well! You’re really doing fantastic with all your starts. We’re growing celery for the first time this year too (after learning how it gets hit the hardest with chemicals when the commercial farmers grow it), but ours are itty-bitty still–that’s not good news that they grow slowly. Hopefully ours will mature in time. I haven’t started many herbs from seed, so I’m interested to see how yours turn out.

I just planted rhubarb a week ago–some people said it’s hard to grow from seed, but I soaked the seeds for a few hours before planting, and there’s already ten sprouts coming up! That will be an interesting experiment for this year.

Now you need to make sure to take pictures throughout the spring and summer of your progress and then post them after the harvest. (Seems so far away, but it sure does come quickly!)

Thanks for updating, Suzanne! The hike looks like such a neat bonding time for the family (nothing like sweat and exhaustion to unite you . And the picture of you two with the heart-shaped lake in the background is very sweet. Good work on all that canning too–I’ve never had to do it alone, so I guess I take all the help in the house for granted.

Wow! Finally get to see the pictures! That looks like an amazing hike. I chuckled when I saw Jon’s raft and cooking spoon. He was never one to go very long without entertinaments and conviencences. What great pictures! It’s been a busy few months for you all! And three girl cousins all close in age–how much fun will they have! It reminds me of the foursome of girl cousins in my family–we are all within 6 months of each other. What’s Matthew and Mariya’s baby’s name? Thanks for sharing!
